NHL: Philadelphia 3, Florida 2 (SO)

SUNRISE, Fla., Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Ben Eager scored the first two goals of his NHL career and Michal Handzus got the only goal in the shootout Monday as Philadelphia beat Florida, 3-2.

Jeff Carter had two assists and Antero Niittymaki made 34 saves for the Philadelphia Flyers, who have won four of their last five games.

Mike Van Ryn and Chris Gratton each scored goals and Roberto Luongo stopped 42 shots for Florida, which has lost two straight.

After the first three shooters on each team failed to get a shot past either gaoltender, Handzus beat Luongo with a backhand shot top shelf.
