NHL: Philadelphia 5, Pittsburgh 4

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Peter Forsberg scored twice Friday night to help Philadelphia edge the Pittsburgh Penguins, 5-4.

Simon Gagne and Dennis Seidenberg both recorded a goal and an assist while Mike Knuble scored once and goalie Antero Niittymaki made 22 saves for the Flyers (21-8-5), who have won two in a row and three of their last four games. Knuble's goal, his 19th of the season, was the game-winner with 3:24 left to play.

Sidney Crosby had two goals and an assist, Tomas Surovy added a goal, Erik Christensen recorded one goal and one assist, and goalie Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 27 shots for the Penguins (8-19-7), who have lost five straight and 11 of their last 12 games.

The Flyers out-shot Pittsburgh, 32-26. Philadelphia went 2-for-11 on the power play while the Penguins were 1-for-6.
