TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Preliminary autopsy results indicate the son of Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy apparently committed suicide.

James Dungy would have celebrated his 19th birthday Jan. 6.

He was a student a Hillsborough County Community College near Tampa, Fla. His girlfriend found his body in his apartment in Lutz, Fla., Thursday afternoon.

The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner did not give the cause of death, but said there was no evidence of foul play and nothing to suggest James Dungy's death was not suicide, the Indianapolis Star said.

Results of a toxicology study were expected in four to six weeks.

Tony Dungy and his wife flew to Tampa Thursday on a private jet belonging to Colts' owner Jim Irsay. Assistant Head Coach Jim Caldwell will fill in until Dungy feels able to return.

A Hillsborough County sheriff's office report said the 6-foot-7, 235-pound teen said he felt depressed when he took 14 prescription painkillers on Oct. 21, the Star reported.
