CALGARY, Alberta, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Dion Phaneuf, Tony Amonte and Stephane Yelle scored first-period goals to spark the Calgary Flames' 3-0 win over the Boston Bruins at the Saddledome.

Miikka Kiprusoff turned aside 26 shots for his fifth shutout of the season for Calgary. Kiprusoff has 12 career shutouts.

Kiprusoff stopped P.J. Axelsson on a breakaway with just under five minutes left in the second period, and moments later denied Brian Leetch on an attempt from in close.

The news wasn't all good for the Flames. Yelle hurt his left ankle in the first period, and was wearing a walking cast by the end of the game. He went to the hospital for further examination.

Andrew Raycroft made 26 saves for Boston, which missed on five power-play chances and lost for the fourth time in five games.
