MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Ben Roethlisberger passed for 149 yards and ran for a score as the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Minnesota Vikings, 18-3, at the Metrodome.
Willie Parker rushed for 81 yards on 14 carries for the Steelers (9-5), who won for the second consecutive week and significantly enhanced their playoff chances.
The Pittsburgh defense forced two interceptions from the normally mistake-free Brad Johnson. The modern-day Steel Curtain also blocked a 32-yard Paul Edinger field goal attempt and forced a safety when Larry Foote tackled Michael Bennett in the end zone.
Johnson completed 16-of-30 passes for 143 yards as the Vikings (8-6) lost for the first time in seven games.
Bennett added 43 yards on 11 carries for Minnesota, which managed just 185 yards of total offense. Koren Robinson had three receptions for 34 yards.
