COL BKB: North Carolina 76, Santa Clara 58

CHAPEL HILL, N.C., Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Tyler Hansbrough led a balanced scoring attack with 14 points as 20th-ranked North Carolina defeated Santa Clara, 76-58, Saturday night.

Reyshawn Terry and Bobby Frasor each added 13 points for the Tar Heels (6-1), who have won three straight games. Danny Green contributed 12 points and David Noel tallied 11 points in the victory.

Travis Niesen notched a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds while Brody Angley tallied 13 points and dished out nine assists for the Broncos (4-4), who shot just 34 percent from the floor and suffered their second straight defeat.

Leading 35-32 early in the second half, the Tar Heels went on an extended 25-9 spurt to put the game out of reach.
