Blues' Tkachuk out six weeks

ST. LOUIS, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- St. Louis Blues forward Keith Tkachuk is expected to miss six weeks after breaking his knuckle in the second period Friday against Chicago.

This is the latest of several setbacks for the 14-year veteran this season. The 33-year-old Tkachuk was suspended in September after failing a physical and reportedly coming to camp 25 pounds overweight.

He then missed several weeks after suffering cracked ribs on October 15 against Nashville.

Tkachuk has appeared in just 10 games this season, but was in the midst of a seven-game point streak before going out in the 5-1 loss to Chicago.

For his career, Tkachuk has 439 goals and 408 assists with the Winnipeg Jets, Phoenix Coyotes and Blues. His best year came during the 1995-96 campaign with Winnipeg, when he notched 50 goals and 48 assists in 76 games. He scored a career-high 52 goals the following season.

The Blues are the worst team in the NHL with just 16 points.
