COL BKB: Louisville 111, Akron 85

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Taquan Dean recorded 22 points, eight assists and seven rebounds Saturday as fifth-ranked Louisville hammered Akron, 111-85.

Juan Palacios added 17 points and eight rebounds; David Padgett had 15 points and eight boards; and Brandon Jenkins rang up 13 points, two rebounds and four assists for Louisville (5-0), which won at home for the eighth straight time.

Romeo Travis had 21 points and four assists; Darryl Peterson, who was 7-of-7 on free throws, scored 16; and Nick Dials had 12 for the Zips (3-2), who fell to 0-2 on the road.

The Cardinals easily out-rebounded Akron, 41-26, in the first-ever meeting between the two schools. The Zips were coming off a 132-52 rout of Denison in their last outing.
