NHL: Buffalo 6, Colorado 4

DENVER, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Derek Roy scored the game-winning goal with 2:27 remaining Sunday as the Buffalo Sabres posted a 6-4 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.

Jason Pominville and Jochen Hecht both had a goal and an assist, and Paul Gaustad scored for Buffalo, which has won six of its last seven games. Martin Biron made 25 saves for the Sabres.

Marek Svatos scored on a penalty shot for the Avalanche, and Peter Budaj gave up just one goal on 13 shots in relief of David Aebischer, who left after stopping 12-of-16 shots in the first period.

Alex Tanguay and Rob Blake both added goals, and Milan Hejduk had three assists for Colorado, which has lost two straight games.
