NHL: N.Y. Rangers 2, Pittsburgh 1

NEW YORK, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Rookie Henrik Lundqvist made 35 saves Thursday while leading the New York Rangers to a 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Maxim Kondratiev scored his first career NHL goal and Marek Malik scored the game-winner for the Rangers, who have captured six straight. It is their longest winning streak since November 2001.

Penguins defenseman Ryan Whitney also recorded his first career goal, with Mark Recchi and Matt Murley getting the assists.

Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury came up with 30 saves on 32 tries for Pittsburgh, which has lost four in a row.
