NHL: Montreal 3, Atlanta 2

MONTREAL, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Jose Theodore didn't allow a goal in the shootout and Pierre Dagenais got his first career shootout score Tuesday as Montreal beat Atlanta, 3-2.

Michael Ryder and Andrei Markov both scored and Theodore made 36 saves for the Canadiens.

Ilya Kovalchuk and Peter Bondra each had a goal and Steve Shields stopped 28 of the 30 shots he faced for Atlanta, which lost for the third time in four games.

Ryder missed on Montreal's first shootout attempt, but Dagenais beat Shields on his stick side for the Canadians' winning goal.
