Boozer to miss another month

SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- The Utah Jazz said Thursday that forward Carlos Boozer, who has not played this season, will miss another month as he tries to recover from a hamstring injury.

The 6-foot-9 inch, 258-pound power forward strained his left hamstring during training camp and aggravated the injury during practice on Monday. An MRI revealed the latest damage.

"To have someone work this hard over the summer, come in and be our best player in two-a-days and training camp, and have an injury like this re-occur is certainly disappointing for us, and discouraging for Carlos," said senior vice president of basketball operations Kevin O'Connor on the team's Web site.

Boozer, in his second season with the Jazz after two with the Cleveland Cavaliers, played in only 51 games last season because of ankle and foot ailments. In 207 career games, he has averaged 13.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest.
