NHL: St. Louis 2, Columbus 0

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Lee Stempniak and Scott Young each scored a goal Wednesday night as the St. Louis Blues blanked the Columbus Blue Jackets, 2-0.

Stempniak also had an assist, Barret Jackman had one helper, and goalie Curtis Sanford made 36 saves to help the Blues (3-12-3) break a club record 11-game losing streak.

Both clubs were scoreless in five power play chances, while Columbus (5-14-0), which has scored a league-low 34 goals this season, had a big 36-16 advantage in shots on goal.

The Blue Jackets' losing streak rose to three games. They have dropped seven of their last eight outings.

Columbus goaltender Marc Denis stopped 14 of the 16 shots he faced.
