SEMMES, Ala., Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Liselotte Neumann shot 6-under-par 66 on Thursday to take the lead after one round at the Mitchell Company Tournament of Champions at Semmes, Ala.
Juli Inkster and Christina Kim share second place at 5-under 67. Defending champion Heather Daly-Donofrio and Patricia Meunier-Lebouc both shot 4-under 68 and are tied for fourth.
Neumann, who won this event in 1996, took the overnight lead with a bogey-free round that included six birdies in her final 12 holes.
"It was just a good solid round, not any mistakes at all out there," she said. "Just one of those days."
Sharing sixth at 3-under 69 are Candie Kung, Hee-Won Han, Rachel Hetherington and Lorena Ochoa. Reigning U.S. Women's Open champion Birdie Kim came in at 2-under 70 to share tenth with six others, including Paula Creamer.
Annika Sorenstam, a nine-time winner this season, is skipping the event for a third straight year.
