ATLANTA, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Bart Bryant was an easy winner Sunday at The Tour Championship in Atlanta.
Bryant earned the title with a solid 3-under-par 67 over the closing 18 holes to finish at 17-under 263. He won by six shots over Tiger Woods (69), who was the runner-up in this event for the third time. Woods ended at a distant 11-under 269.
"This goes so far beyond all of my expectations," said Bryant, who set a tone with a course record 62 on Thursday. "It's just amazing and a real dream come true."
Bryant, 41, also won the 2004 Texas Open and The Memorial earlier this year.
Scott Verplank (69) finished alone in third at 9-under 271. Defending champion Retief Goosen (74) tied for fourth with Vijay Singh (67) and Davis Love III (69) at 7-under 273.
Bryant earned $1.1 million. Woods won the 2005 PGA Tour money title with over $10 million.
