NHL: Carolina 4, Boston 3 (OT)

RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Matt Cullen scored a game-winning goal in overtime Wednesday night to boost the Carolina Hurricanes over the Boston Bruins, 4-3.

Matt Cullen scored two goals in regulation and Frantisek Kaberle added one. Eric Staal had two assists and goaltender Martin Gerber saved 24 of the 27 shots he faced as the Hurricanes improved to 6-2-1 with their fifth win in six.

Also, they now are 4-0 at home this season.

Brian Leetch scored twice, Sergei Samsonov added a goal, and goalie Andrew Raycroft had 29 saves for the Bruins (4-6-1), who lost their second game in a row.

Carolina out-shot the Bruins, 33-27. On the power play, Boston was 2-for-4 while the Hurricanes went 0-for-6.
