LOS ANGELES, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Chris Simon's power-play goal with 30 seconds left in the third period lifted the Calgary Flames to a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings.
Simon logged his 12th two-goal game -- his first scores of the season -- and assisted Dion Phaneuf on the other Flames goal. Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 18 shots.

Luc Robitaille and center Derek Armstrong each scored in the first period for the Kings before a sellout crowd of 18,118 at Staples Center.
Kings goalie Mathieu Garon made 28 saves, including a penalty shot in the third period after defenseman Tim Gleason tripped Marcus Nilson on a partial breakaway.
