NFL: Detroit 13, Cleveland 10

CLEVELAND, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Jason Hanson booted a 50-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter to help Detroit top the Cleveland Browns, 13-10.

In his first start for the Lions (3-3), veteran quarterback Jeff Garcia, a former Brown, was 22-of-34 for 210 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. He scored the team's lone touchdown in the second quarter. Garcia played because the ineffective Joey Harrington was benched.

Detroit had its highest offensive output of the year with 329 total yards. Running back Kevin Jones gained 74 yards on 21 carries and rookie wide receiver Mike Williams had five receptions for 95 yards.

For Cleveland (2-4), Trent Dilfer was 10-of-19 passing for just 73 yards and no touchdowns. He had three passes intercepted.

Reuben Droughns rushed for 100 yards on 19 attempts. He also had two catches for nine yards. Joshua Cribbs had a 90-yard kickoff return for a score.
