Sergei Gonchar, Ryan Malone and Brooks Orpik all scored one goal each for the still winless Penguins, who sank to 0-4-4. The 41 saves by goaltender Jocelyn Thibault weren't nearly enough for Pittsburgh, which has begun a season without a win in eight games for the first time in franchise history.

Boston went 4-for-13 on the power play, while Pittsburgh was 1-for-8. The Bruins out-shot the Penguins by 47-21.
