NHL: Toronto 5, Carolina 4 (OT)

TORONTO, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Ken Klee scored a power-play goal at 4:44 of overtime Thursday night as the Toronto Maple Leafs edged Carolina, 5-4.

Darcy Tucker had one goal and an assist, Eric Lindros added a goal, and goalie Ed Belfour made 28 saves for the Maple Leafs (4-1-2), who have won four in a row.

Erik Cole had a goal and an assist, Eric Staal added three assists, but Cam Ward stopped only 18-of-23 shots for the Hurricanes (3-3-0).

Toronto was 1-for-5 on the power play, while Carolina went 1-for-6.

The losers, who had a two-game winning streak snapped, won the shots-on-goal battle by 32-23.
