NFL: Dallas 16, N.Y. Giants 13 (OT)

IRVING, Texas, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Jose Cortez kicked a 45-yard field goal 3:47 into overtime Sunday as Dallas beat the New York Giants, 16-13.

Earlier in the contest, Cortez missed two other field goal attempts.

Drew Bledsoe was 26-of-37 passing for 312 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, and Anthony Thomas -- replacing an injured Julius Jones -- had 47 yards on 21 carries. Keyshawn Johnson -- who recorded his 700th career reception -- made eight catches for 120 yards, but lost a key fumble in regulation for Dallas (4-2), which took over first place in NFC East after Washington lost at Kansas City.

For the Giants, Eli Manning went 14-of-30 for 215 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Tiki Barber had 64 yards on 14 carries and Plaxico Burress had 55 yards on five receptions.

In the error-filled contest, both teams had four turnovers.
