NFL: Atlanta 34, New Orleans 31

SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Todd Peterson booted a 36-yard field goal as time expired Sunday, and the Atlanta Falcons beat New Orleans, 34-31.

It was his second try to end the contest. On the first, Peterson missed wide left on a 41-yard attempt, but the Saints' Tony Bryant was called for defensive holding, giving Peterson new life.

Michael Vick, who played despite not being fully recovered from a sprained right knee, went 11-of-23 passing for 112 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Warrick Dunn gained 100 yards on 22 carries and scored once. Alge Crumpler made four receptions for 52 yards.

The Saints' Aaron Brooks was 22-of-33 for 259 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Antowain Smith had 88 yards on 12 carries and two touchdowns.

Donte Stallworth had seven receptions for 83 yards and one touchdown as the Saints fell to 2-4 with their second loss in a row.
