COL FB: Texas Tech 59, Kansas State 20

LUBBOCK, Texas, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Cody Hodges threw for 643 yards and five touchdowns Saturday as 11th-ranked Texas Tech blasted Kansas State, 59-20.

Hodges went 44-of-65 passing, Joel Filani caught 10 passes for 255 yards and one score, and Taurean Henderson also had 10 receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns. Henderson added 48 yards rushing on 15 carries. He scored three times while breaking the NCAA record for career receptions by a running back with his 23-yard catch on the third play of the contest.

The Red Raiders (6-0, 3-0 Big 12) are off to their best start since 1998, when they also won their first six games.

Allan Evridge went 14-of-25 passing for 192 yards and one touchdown, and Jordy Nelson caught three passes for 98 yards and one touchdown for the Wildcats, who dropped to 4-2 overall (1-2 Big 12). Evridge added 64 yards rushing on 12 carries.
