NFL: New England 31, Atlanta 28

ATLANTA, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Adam Vinatieri kicked a game-winning 29-yard field goal with 17 seconds left Sunday as New England beat the Atlanta Falcons, 31-28.

Tom Brady went 22-of-27 passing for 350 yards and three touchdowns while Corey Dillon had 106 yards on 23 carries.

Second-year pro Matt Schaub, playing in place of injured quarterback Michael Vick, went 18-of-34 passing for 298 yards and three touchdowns. Brian Finneran had five receptions for 103 yards and Alge Crumpler added 99 receiving yards and one touchdown for Atlanta, which dropped to 3-2.

New England also is 3-2.
