EVANSTON, Ill., Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Freshman Tyrell Sutton rushed for 244 yards and three touchdowns Saturday afternoon as Northwestern upset No. 14 Wisconsin, 51-48.
Quarterback Brett Basanez threw for 361 yards and three touchdowns for Northwestern (3-2, 1-1 Big Ten), which snapped a two-game losing streak and beat the Badgers for the third time in their last four meetings.
Basanez, who completed 26-of-36 passes, also rushed for a career-high 69 yards. He now has topped the 300-yard mark in passing four times in his career.
For Wisconsin, John Stocco threw for 326 yards and four touchdowns to Jonathan Orr. He had two interceptions.
Brian Calhoun rushed for 122 yards and also had a career-high 11 receptions for 128 yards for the Badgers (5-1, 2-1 Big Ten), who lost for the first time this season and fell for the fourth time in their last 18 games.
