JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 7 (UPI) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars Friday acquired linebacker Jamie Winborn from the San Francisco 49ers.
To make room on its roster, Jacksonville released veteran defensive tackle Martin Chase.
Winborn and Nolan came to a mutual agreement that Winborn, who did start two games this season, would be traded. The 5-foot-11 inch, 242-pounder, who is in his fifth season out of Vanderbilt, has 190 tackles, nine sacks and three interceptions in his career. He was the 49ers' second-round pick in the 2001 NFL Draft.
The 6-foot-2 inch, 310-pound Chase was among the final cuts by the New York Giants after the pre-season. Chase was a fifth-round draft by the Baltimore Ravens in 1998 out of Oklahoma.
