MLB: N.Y. Mets 3, Colorado 2

NEW YORK, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Mike Jacobs and Marlon Anderson hit home runs Friday night to help the New York Mets edge Colorado, 3-2.

Both players had two hits and drove in a run for the Mets, who have won seven of 10 and eight of 12 overall.

Winning pitcher Kris Benson improved to 10-8. Aaron Heilman recorded his fifth save.

Garrett Atkins and Cory Sullivan each had two of the Rockies' six hits and Matt Holliday hit a two-run homer for Colorado, which has dropped two straight and three of four overall. Loser Byung-Hyun Kim sank to 5-12.

With the victory, the Mets (82-78) clinched their first winning season since 2001.
