MLB: Chicago White Sox 4, MInnesota 1

CHICAGO, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Paul Konerko hit a two-run homer Sunday as the Chicago White Sox beat the Minnesota Twins, 4-1.

Aaron Rowand and Joe Crede each added one RBI for Chicago, which has won three in a row. Winning pitcher Mark Buehrle went the distance on a four-hitter to improve to 16-8. He had no walks and struck out six in hurling his third complete game of the season and 18th of his career, breaking a three-start winless slide and winning for just the third time in his last nine outings.

Lew Ford had two hits and Luis Rivas drove in the Twins' lone run. Loser Francisco Liriano, who struck out eight batters over six innings, dropped to 0-2.

The White Sox, who have a 2 1/2 game lead over Cleveland in the American League Central, have a magic number of five to win the division as the season heads into its final week.
