MIAMI, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Olindo Mare booted a 32-yard field goal with four seconds left Sunday to give Miami a 27-24 win over the Carolina Panthers.
Quarterback Gus Frerotte was 14-of-33 passing for 171 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, and Ronnie Brown added 132 yards on the ground and one touchdown for the Dolphins, who improved to 2-1. Miami now has won four straight home games dating back to last year.
Jake Delhomme was 19-of-35 for 285 yards passing with one interception and three touchdowns for Carolina (1-2), which had knocked off two-time defending Super Bowl champion New England last Sunday. Steve Smith had 11 catches for 170 yards and three touchdowns.
