MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Gary Russell's third touchdown of the game in the second overtime Saturday gave Minnesota a 42-35 victory over 10th-ranked Purdue.
Russell rushed for two TDs and scored another on a reception for the Golden Gophers (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten), who are off to a 4-0 start for the fourth straight year.

Laurence Maroney ran the ball 46 times for a career-high 217 yards in the victory, while Bryan Cupito completed 22-of-35 passes for 271 yards with three touchdown passes and three interceptions.
Kory Sheets rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown for the Boilermakers (2-1, 0-1 Big Ten.) Brandon Kirsch passed for 246 yards and two touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss.
