MLB: N.Y. Mets 3, Florida 2 (12 innings)

NEW YORK, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Mike Jacobs singled in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning Tuesday as the New York Mets beat the Florida Marlins, 3-2.

Cliff Floyd also drove in a run for the Mets, who have won three of their last four games.

Paul Lo Duca and Carlos Delgado each hit solo homers for the Marlins, who have dropped five of their past six games.

Florida trails Houston by three games for the top spot in the NL wild card chase.

New York's Kris Benson threw seven innings and allowed two runs and four hits. A.J. Burnett pitched eight innings for the Marlins and had a no-hitter into the seventh before being charged with one run on two hits.
