Sorenstam defends Oklahoma golf title

BROKEN ARROW, Okla., Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Annika Sorenstam struggled to a 2-over-par 73 Sunday but still managed to successfully defend her title at the LPGA's John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic.

Sorenstam wound up with a three-round total of 5-under-par 208.

Paula Creamer, 19-year-old 2005 LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year, shot a 2-under 69 Sunday and took second place at 4-under 209.

Maria Hjorth, who was tied for second place with one round to play, shot a 4-over 75 and tied for third with Diana D'Alessio (69) at 2-under 211.

France's Karine Icher also shot a 75 Sunday to finish as the last golfer under-par at 283.

Sorenstam has all but wrapped up LPGA Player of the Year honors and the money title.

Miriam Nagl (68), Jeong Jang (71), Suzann Pettersen (72) and Leta Lindley (73) shared sixth place at even-par 213.
