Karine Icher of France shared the lead until late back-to-back bogeys. Icher wound up with a 70-137 for fourth place.

Sorenstam, from Sweden, is already a six-time winner on the LPGA Tour in 2005. She has won 63 times on the LPGA Tour.

"I'm very happy with the way I played today," said Sorenstam. "I thought I hit the ball beautifully. I don't really look at how many shots I'm ahead or behind tomorrow. I want to continue to hit the ball the way I have."
