HUNT VALLEY, Md., Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Bob Gilder shot a 5-under 67 Saturday for a 13-under 131 that tied the tournament record and gave him a two-stroke lead at the Constellation Energy Classic.
Morris Hatalsky (64) and D.A. Weibring (66) were both at 133 and seven other players were within five strokes heading into Sunday's finish.
Tom Watson (68), a seven-time winner on the Champions Tour and 39-time champion on the PGA Tour, and Curtis Strange (66), who had 17 titles on the PGA Tour but has yet to win on the senior circuit, were at 134.
"There's a lot of guys playing well here and the golf course is susceptible to a lot of birdies," said Gilder, who tied a course record with his 64 in the first round.
The last of Gilder's seven Champions Tour titles came at the 2003 Emerald Classic.
