AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Jamaal Charles rushed for 189 yards and three touchdowns Saturday, pacing the second-ranked Texas Longhorns to a 51-10 victory over the Rice Owls.

Henry Melton and Ramonce Taylor each had a rushing TD for the Longhorns (3-0). Vince Young completed 8-of-14 passes for 101 yards and rushed for 77 yards in the victory.

Chase Clement had a rushing touchdown for the Owls (0-2), who haven't won in Austin since 1965. Clement completed just 2-of-8 passes for 57 yards.

Texas gained 361 yards on the ground while holding Rice to 110 rushing yards.
