WNBA: Connecticut 77, Sacramento 70 (OT)

UNCASVILLE, Conn., Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Taj McWilliams-Franklin had 24 points and 16 rebounds Thursday while pacing Connecticut to a 77-70 overtime win over Sacramento in Game 2 of the WNBA Finals.

The Sun evened the set at one win apiece after falling, 69-65, in the opening game of the best-of-five series. The Finals now switch to Sacramento for Game 3.

Nykesha Sales added 19 points for the Sun, while Katie Douglas had 16.

Connecticut played without guard Lindsay Whalen, who was the third leading scorer for the Sun in the regular season. Whalen was forced to sit the game out with a left knee injury.

Yolanda Griffith had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Monarchs, who suffered their first loss of this year's postseason. Nicole Powell added 16 points, DeMya Walker 14.
