MLB: Tampa Bay 1, Toronto 0

TORONTO, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Toby Hall drove in the game's only run with a second-inning sacrifice fly Sunday afternoon as Tampa Bay beat Toronto, 1-0.

Jonny Gomes added two hits and winning pitcher Scott Kazmir (8-9) teamed with two relievers on a four-hit shutout for the Devil Rays, who have won two straight after a five-game slide. Danys Baez worked a 1-2-3 ninth inning to register his 33rd save.

Tampa Bay improved to 23-19 in one-run games and Kazmir, who has 149 strikeouts, now is 5-2 with a 3.03 ERA in 10 starts since the All-Star break.

Russ Adams had two hits for Toronto, which has lost 12 of 16. Loser David Bush (4-8) yielded only one run and six hits in six innings with no walks and five strikeouts.
