MLB: Houston 5, Cincinnati 2

HOUSTON, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Morgan Ensberg hit a three-run homer Tuesday when the Houston Astros defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 5-2.

Luke Scott and Adam Everett each had two hits for the Astros, who won for just the second time in six games, but moved to within one-half game of Philadelphia and Florida in the NL wild card race.

Wandy Rodriguez (9-6) earned the win as he gave up one run on four hits.

Ramon Ortiz (8-10) took the loss for the Reds, who saw their four-game winning streak halted. He allowed five runs on eight hits and a walk in six innings.
