Five tied for Wendy's lead

DUBLIN, Ohio, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Five players, including defending champion Catriona Matthew, shot 6-under-par 66 Thursday to share the lead after the first round of the Wendy's Championship.

The event is being played at Dublin, Ohio.

Matthew was joined by Soo-Yun Kang, Paula Marti, Marisa Baena and Heather Daly-Donofrio.

Rachel Hetherington and Karrie Webb lead a group of seven at 3-under 67. Included in that group are Brandie Burton, Pat Hurst, Meena Lee, Helen Alfredsson, Michele Redman, Lara Tadiotto and Nadina Taylor.

Annika Sorenstam, playing for the first time since the Women's British Open, shot a 3-under 69 and is tied for 27th after the first 18 holes.
