PHOENIX, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Ramon Castro drove in a career-high five runs to lead the New York Mets to a 14-1 pounding of the Arizona Diamondbacks Bank One Ballpark.
Victor Zambrano (7-10) pitched eight innings, scattering six hits to earn the win. He mixed in three strikeouts with a pair of walks and logged two hits for the Mets.

Mike Jacobs smacked a two-run homer, while Victor Diaz drove in a pair of runs. David Wright ended 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI and four runs scored in the rout.
Arizona's Chad Tracy went 3-for-4 and scored a run, while Luis Gonzalez collected an RBI single and ended 2-for-4.
The 17 hits for the Mets ties a season-high for hits in a nine inning game.
