WNBA: New York 64, Connecticut 58

UNCASVILLE, Conn., Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Catherine Kraayeveld scored 14 points Saturday to lead four players with double figures as New York beat Connecticut, 64-58.

Elena Baranova had a monster game for the Liberty with 11 points and 18 rebounds as New York broke the Sun's six-game winning streak. It was Connecticut's first loss at home since July 30.

Becky Hammon had 10 points and five assists as New York improved to 18-13 with its fifth win in a row. It is 7-3 in its last 10 games.

On an off shooting day, the Sun converted only 1-of-12 three-point field goal tries. Lindsay Whalen had 22 points and Asjha Jones added 16 for Connecticut, which is 8-2 in its last 10 games.
