AKRON, Ohio, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh and Sweden's Henrik Stenson Thursday all shot 4-under 66 in the first round of the WGC-NEC Invitational at Akron, Ohio.

"I played decent today," Woods told reporters after the round. "I hit some good shots and I also hit some bad ones, but my bad ones weren't really that bad. All in all, I'm very pleased."

Last year, he finished tied for second.

Davis Love III shot a 3-under 67 and is tied for fourth place with Chris DiMarco and Nick Dougherty.

PGA Championship winner Phil Mickelson shot 1-under 69, which tied him for 10th with Luke Donald and Chris Riley.
