NEW YORK, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Bernie Williams and Derek Jeter both homered Friday night as the New York Yankees topped Texas, 6-5.
Hideki Matsui had three hits and scored a run and Robinson Cano and Tino Martinez each had two hits for the Yankees, who have won two straight after a two-game skid.

Winning pitcher Al Leiter rose to 3-3 with New York and 6-10 overall. He surrendered seven hits and five runs in five innings, walking three and striking out five.
Alfonso Soriano went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and Gary Matthews Jr. was 3-for-4 with a run scored and one RBI for Texas, which has dropped five in a row.
Loser C.J. Wilson sank to 0-5. He gave up five runs and seven hits in four innings, with two walks and four strikeouts.
