MLB: Pittsburgh 11, Colorado 3

DENVER, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- The Pittsburgh Pirates trounced the Colorado Rockies, 11-3, Thursday.

Jose Castillo had three hits and three RBI and Brad Eldred had a homer and two RBI for the Pirates, who won for only the third time in their last seven games. Jason Bay and Ryan Doumit each added three hits and one RBI.

Josh Fogg (6-7) got the win as he allowed three runs on six hits over six innings. Todd Helton hit a two-run homer for the Rockies.

Colorado pitcher Jeff Francis (11-8) had a three-start winning streak halted as he gave up nine runs -- eight earned -- on 13 hits over just 3 1/3 innings.

Pittsburgh erupted for six runs in the first inning.
