MLB: Baltimore 5, Tampa Bay 2

BALTIMORE, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Eric Byrnes hit a two-run homer Tuesday night to help Baltimore top the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, 5-2.

Miguel Tejada and Javy Lopez each had two hits and one RBI for the Orioles, who snapped a two-game skid but won for just the fifth time in 23 games. Byrnes now has a 13-game hitting streak.

Winner Erik Bedard (6-4) snapped a personal three-game losing streak. He surrendered for two runs and five hits in seven innings with four walks and four strikeouts.

Losing pitcher Scott Kazmir (6-8), who had saw his three-game winning streak snapped, was tagged for three runs and eight hits in 6 1/3 innings with four walks and five strikeouts.

Toby Hall had two hits and two RBI for the Devil Rays, who have dropped 4 of 5.
