ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- David Dellucci hit a grand slam home run Saturday as Texas blasted the Baltimore Orioles, 10-3.
Dellucci went 3-for-5, and Hank Blalock, Alfonso Soriano and Phil Nevin had two hits each for Texas, which has won six of its last 10 games.
Winning pitcher John Wasdin improved to 1-1. In six innings, he surrendered just two runs and six hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
Loser Daniel Cabrera dropped to 8-10. He gave up eight runs and five hits over 3 2/3 innings, walking five and fanning seven.
David Newhan had two hits, including a homer, and Eric Byrnes added two hits for Baltimore, which had a two-game winning streak snapped and has dropped 17 of 21 overall. It was the first loss for interim manager Sam Perlozzo.
