Clippers sign Cuttino Mobley

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Clippers and free agent guard Cuttino Mobley Wednesday agreed to terms on a multiyear contract.

Terms of the deal were not released. The Los Angeles Times has reported that the pact was for five years and $42 million.

"Cuttino is a very tough competitor at both ends of the floor," said Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor. "He shoots the ball extremely well from the perimeter, which will help our low post players. He's a veteran who brings both playoff experience and leadership."

Mobley, who will soon turn 30, will join his fourth team since the end of the 2003-04 campaign. After being dealt from Houston to Orlando as part of the Tracy McGrady deal prior to the start of last season, he was shipped to Sacramento in January.

Mobley, a second-round pick by Houston in 1998, has averaged 17.1 points and four rebounds in 502 games for Houston, Orlando and Sacramento.
