UNCASVILLE, Conn., July 28 (UPI) -- Nykesha Sales scored 21 points and Katie Douglas had 16 Thursday night as Connecticut downed New York, 73-70.
The victory helped the Sun improve to 18-5 while the Liberty sank to 11-11.
Douglas added six rebounds for the Sun. Anne Wauters led five New York players in double figures with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Becky Hammon added 13.
Connecticut, which out-scored the Liberty, 46-33 in the second half, had 40 points in the paint and has won three straight.
