MLB: Florida 3, Pittsburgh 0

MIAMI, July 28 (UPI) -- Dontrelle Willis hurled seven scoreless innings Thursday night as Florida beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 3-0.

Willis, who snapped a personal three-game skid and had given up at least seven runs in each of his last three starts, raised his record to 14-6.

Todd Jones notched his 18th save.

Miguel Cabrera, Juan Encarnacion and Mike Lowell all drove in a run and Jeff Conine had two hits for the Marlins, who have won six of their last eight games.

Loser Kip Wells (6-11) surrendered only four hits and two runs over seven innings with two walks and two strikeouts.

Jason Bay and Freddy Sanchez each had two hits for Pittsburgh, which has lost two straight following a three-game winning streak.
