MLB: Arizona 3, Milwaukee 0

MILWAUKEE, July 27 (UPI) -- Chad Tracy had two hits and scored a run Wednesday as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 3-0, avoiding a three-game sweep.

Winner Claudio Vargas (4-5) gave up six hits over six scoreless innings with one walk and six strikeouts.

Luis Gonzalez also had two hits, Quinton McCracken tripled and scored a run, and Brian Bruney earned his 12th save for Arizona, which got its second in five games.

With the win, Vargas snapped a three-game winless streak. Brady Clark and Geoff Jenkins each two hits for the Brewers, who lost for the second time in five games.

Lyle Overbay went 1-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to 11 games.

Losing pitcher Tomo Ohka (6-6) yielded only four hits and two runs in seven innings. He walked three and struck out two.
